If you’re blessed to share memories with your mother, its safe to say some jewels of wisdom were dropped down on you while growing up. Each moment was a teachable moment– not only just because of the things she said, but also by simply watching her.

Use Your Words
More times than not, pouting and throwing tantrums will get you nowhere. Growing up, your mother taught you to use your words. Now because of that you’re not afraid to verbalize your needs and wants, or even when something is bothering you. Now as an adult you are comfortable with being expressive and using your words with others to have more conversations and less fights.

Don’t Sweat It. Everything Will Be OK
You panic. You begin to prepare for the worst. Then your mother simply tells you, “Relax, everything will be OK,” and just like that you’re able to see clearly and rationalize the situation. You realize that everything isn’t so bad. Things won’t always be great but they will be OK. Now rarely even panic or fret over situations like you used to.

Whatever You Do, Do It Well
Your mother will always support you. Even if she vocalizes how she wishes you were doing something else, she still stands by you. it. She raised you to be the best at whatever you set out to do, and always taught you to show up and show out. You may have even learned this from just simply watching her, go out into the world day after day with pride and humility. Now as an adult you always put your best foot forward because, well, that’s just what you do.

Have Fun!
Your mother said this to you as she dropped you off to school, a friend’s house, or even track practice. You now can always find the fun in what you are doing. How lucky you are to be able to complete mundane tasks while being able to find a bit of fun in it. Thanks, Mama!
