In today’s society, women are sometimes pressured to get married by a certain age and have children. But a lot of women argue that they can’t do it alone. If you were raised a certain way, you may think it’s the man’s job to get down on bended knee and propose.

“Marrying yourself is obviously for the attention, the wedding. Not okay. I mean it can’t be about a relationship. Now, if there was some deep symbolism behind it like loving herself after an abusive situation, maybe, but even then you can just have a party! And yes I think a lot of people get married for the wedding, go into debt, create unhappiness and a divide in their relationship so they can put on a show for people. That also isn’t okay.“-C. Spring
“No comment. SMH.”-K. Hunt
“Marrying yourself is ridiculous! She was craving attention and she got it. I can only speak for myself about a wedding. It’s about both things, you want people to come out and enjoy your day and night and have a great time and it’s also with the person you are sharing a lifetime bond with. It depends on how the couple decides to celebrate.” -L. Cornish
At the end of the day, it’s your choice. You can wait until the man of your dreams comes along and makes you an honest woman. Or, you can do like the brave lady in Texas and hold a ceremony symbolizing the love and commitment that you have to yourself.
