He’s Out of My League!

When searching for the man of our dreams, stability is typically pretty high on our list of desired qualities. We prefer our partners to be well-educated and/or well-established in their careers. Ironically, when we find that guy, it can be intimidating if our level of accomplishments is substantially lower than his. Sometimes women wonder what they have to offer the man who practically has everything. Unfortunately, some of these men also agree with this theory and treat hard-working women as if they’re beneath them. The search for love can be discouraging when we compare ourselves to the men we pursue.

Many of us ladies have been able to achieve success or happiness despite unplanned pregnancies or incomplete education. For that, we give ourselves the pat on the back we deserve. However, when a man of a prestigious background or status approaches us, suddenly we become apprehensive if we think we don’t measure up. We begin to doubt ourselves and wonder, “Why would he want me?”

Well, if he’s merely looking for arm candy or someone to produce an heir to his “throne,” let him go. Surely he has plenty of other options and is used to getting what he wants. If you appear unworthy or unsure of yourself, he is less likely to treat you with respect.

However, if he seems really into everything that makes you the amazing woman you are, go for it! Show him what makes you remarkable and be proud of your life story.

Be secure in your independence and confident in what you bring to the table. The one thing these successful bachelors don’t have is a special woman to share their lives with. When any man shows interest in a woman, there is a reason. It may be purely superficial or it might actually be genuine. Just be smart and don’t apologize for who you are or where you came from.
